What's new in
Color Catchers.

v0.8.6 April / May 2026

Gallery & Collection Management

  • Multi-select — Long-press any card to enter selection mode, then tap others to add them to your selection. A sticky action bar appears at the bottom with Delete, Export, Publish, and Unpublish. Smart-apply: only eligible actions run on your selection.
  • Published filter — A new toolbar button lets you show only your published palettes, so you can quickly review them before unpublishing.
  • Selection and filters are remembered throughout your session — closing and reopening the gallery no longer resets everything.
  • Swatch view — A new way to browse your palettes in the gallery.

Offline Color Names

  • RAL color names now appear directly on your polaroids even without an internet connection. No need to be online to see color matches.

Camera

  • Composition grid — A grid overlay on the camera feed helps you frame your captures (rule of thirds, alignment).
  • Refined controls — Mode and configuration options are now integrated directly into the camera UI, right where you need them.

Settings

  • New unified panel — Settings have been fully redesigned: a single floating panel with icons, cleaner and better organized. Advanced options (algorithm configuration) live in a dedicated drawer.

RAL Palette Viewer

  • The RAL palette viewer layout has been improved for better readability and visual presentation.

Bug Fixes

  • Bulk publish/unpublish stops immediately if you're not logged in, preventing silent errors.
  • Various performance improvements and better adaptation across screen sizes.
v0.8.3 First public release — iOS & Android

The first public release of Color Catchers on the App Store (iOS) and as a Progressive Web App (PWA) on Android. Point your camera at anything — a wall, a fabric, a landscape — and instantly extract a palette of 3 to 7 dominant colors, right on your device. No cloud processing, no delay.

Color Palette Extraction

  • On-device dominant color extraction — 3 to 7 colors from any photo or live camera frame, with no internet required.
  • RAL color matching — every extracted color is matched to the closest RAL name so you can identify and reference shades precisely.
  • Polaroid export — each catch is rendered as a polaroid image with its color swatches, ready to share.

Gallery & Community

  • Personal gallery to browse and manage all your captured palettes — published or private.
  • Public feed of color palettes from the community, browsable at colorcatchers.co.
  • Save other people's palettes to your personal collection.

Account & Sharing

  • Passwordless sign-in via email OTP — no password to remember.
  • Share any catch directly to social media or messaging apps.
